Razor never showed up and gave no notice, so Tomcats had to scramble and find a goalie, “I’ll go in net”, stated Snowpants and in the net he went, doing great, but his team lost a close one, 8-6.

Goaltending change, thought to be due to injury not performance, so Snowpants came out and Soupy went in net, Soupy’s team won 9-8.  Soupy ends up with an 8 GAA.

Shack never showed up either.  Tomcats are scratching their heads and wondering what the hell is going on. “I don’t get it, two guys just don’t show up, invite me for dinner, cook a big meal….and I won’t show up, see how you feel”, stated May Day.

The games were very intense, March Break for the youngsters, but the oldsters were out in full force playing on the Kapusta Kow Palace floor. One youngster was out, Big Ned was brought up, due to it being March break, “The kid has hands, just like his dad” Stated Sparky and added, “The apple does not fall far from the tree”.

“After a few weeks off, I thought the pace was still pretty good, you can see as pro athletes go, all these Tomcats are in super physical condition.” stated Snowpants.

BEER NIGHT: If it is your beer night, and you miss, you MUST bring it the next time you come out.  Right now Tomcats have four guys that have not brought their beer in. I’m hearing rumours that the President is not happy.

Lovie’s NHL Hockey Playoff Pool: Lovie will be announcing a date as to when his play off pool will be, stand by for that news, due to be out very soon.

April 19 Last night of Hockey: There are only 5 weeks of hockey left.

May 3, 2016 Board of Directors Meeting: The Windsor Tomcats will be holding their year end Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday May 3, 2016.  Any or all Tomcats are invited to attend the meeting.  The meeting will be held at Stevo’s house and the start time would be at 6:30p.m.

Kapusta Open: The Turk is organizing a golf event and the proceeds go to the St. Vladimir’s Building Fund. (you know it better as the Kapusta Kow) The event is on June 11, it is at Ambassador (which costs &75-80 just to play golf there)  In the Kapusta Open you get golf, a cart, hot dog and drink at the turn, dinner and door prizes.  The cost is only $110. The hall has been great to us for over 27 years….consider playing in this year’s tournament.  See the Turk for more details.

Tomcat Golf Outing: Keep June 17 marked off in your calendar as that is the date of the Tomcat golf tournament, affectionately known as the ‘Pantalon de Neige’ Cup.  Snowpants is very close to providing everyone with detailed details in regards to the event(Place, time, cost etc) so mark off your calendar and stay by your computer for important emails from the Pantalon de Neige himself, Snowpants.

Whilst you are thinking about Lovie’s NHL Hockey Playoff pool and the last night of hockey being April 19 and about May 3 and June 11and June 17 and thinking to yourself ‘is it not fucking awesome being a Tomcat’ do you think I could put my Harry Ballsonue.

Also, if your child is over the age of 16 and wants to play that night March 15, please let Stevo know.  If you are planning on bringing your younger kids to goof around between games, please make sure they
have a helmet to wear on stage during the games, no one wants to see your kid get a Chevy or Spinner shot off the side of their melon.

After a nine day lay off from ball hockey  some Windsor Tomcats were raring to go…but text after text came in and at the end of it all, the Tomcats had to cancel the night of hockey.

“I don’t recall, ever, ever having to do that”. indicated Stevo, with large crocodile tears in his eyes, “maybe it is time to fold the whole operation down”. He concluded.

It is a well known fact that Tomcats attendance drops off after the tournament, so maybe, the Tournament will actually be the last night of hockey for the year.

If you are keeping Stats, the Tomcats have 3 goalies on staff: Razor, Falcon, the Danish

19 full time Tomcats, Sparky, Cribzie, Turk, Hollywood,  Chico, Doc, Chevy, Spinner, Sunny, Soupy, Hurricane, Matador, Snowpants, Jingles, Lovie, Beep, Stevo, Kamikaze and Tunzie

They have 3 quazi part time players, Bulldog, Killer, La Bamba

“I think it is time to review the entire process. ” indicated  Sparky.

One Tomcat that hopes Tomcat Hockey will continue is Ogie, he is raring to go April 12 and 19, “Geez willikurs, I hope they don’t cancel the rest of the season, I was planning on coming out April 12 and 19”,  a weepy Ogie indicated.

Ogie and some of the boys enjoy a drink after the game and before heading into the Dom Polski to celebrate the end of another fantastic Tomcat season.

“I will need to look at the entire situation, but it is very possible that we will be shutting the rest of the year down, if guys can’t come out then no use keeping it going, guys don’t show up after the tournament anyway, so…..well……maybe we can look at September and see if it is worth starting it up, if not, maybe we are done…. it sure would have been nice to have a final ceremony or something”. Stated Stevo.

While you are sitting there, thinking, maybe I should have come out, do you think I could put my Harry Ballsonue YOU!

With Tomcat hockey cancelled, Turk still wanted to motivate you into using your time wisely.  If its not going to be with the Tomcats it better be doing something just as worthy.

While we were particiapting in the tournament on February 27 at the Kapusta Kow, La Bamba had been lent out to the Eiger Eagles in Switzerland, he scored three goals against the Geneva Gorillas  and was voted MVP in the Zurich’s Cup Tournament.

The team photo is what makes the day, along with the Tomcats singing Tomcats Forever,the smiles on the faces of the Tomcats as they sing and do hand movements is a sight to be experienced like a Sun Set over the Himalayan Mountains, The Tomcat Brotherhood belted out the song with bravado Tournament Day. Not present this year at the Tournament:  Bearcat (Retired), Skippy (I.R) The Rake (I.R.) Rocky (I.R.) La Bamba (Work Commitment) Hurricane (Family Commitment) Zaba (I.R.) Junior (Disgruntled) Hollywood was able to make team photo and attend but was not assigned to a team, but he was there to do his famous ‘Ziggy Zagga Ziggy Zagga’,  to which the Tomcats replied ‘Hoy Hoy Hoy’.

I asked Hollywood what the origins of the Ziggy Zaggy was. “Originally it was first introduced as a battle cry where the leader shouts Ziggy Zagga…and the soldiers reply with a hearty “Hoy, Hoy, Hoy.” But now it is used mostly as an alcohol consumption song” Hollywood stated. Non the less, always a joy to do and the laughs and the smiles are what make the tournament.

The Four Captains did a great job

A first….it was the first time in Tomcat Tournament history that a player not playing in the final won the MVP, Congrats to Chico for his Felix Potvin/Carey Price like saves….save after save after save. “I thought he was outstanding in the net and gave us a chance to win, but if you don’t score any goals it is hard to win games” Stated Lovie, who himself won the ‘Tomcat Award’ an award given to the Tomcat who best exemplifies the Tomcat Spirit.

Doc would like to once again thank the Refs for their hard work, Hollywood for being a goal judge, The Sexy Man for being the Official Photographer of the Tomcats,  to Turk and Zaba for organizing a very delicious pizza dinner and to Purples for letting us take over the bar again this year.

We are back March 8 if you are unable to make it, let Stevo know.

March 26 ‘Good Bye Purples Party’.

Purples has always been wonderful to the Tomcats please consider attending that night to show your ‘thank you’…..admission is FREE.

Ghost Crossing confirmed to be playing, The Toad, Axe, Eel, Coyote and Snake Bite. Admission is free…..it is not an all ages show.

If your significant other has never been to Purples, this would be the time to show it her in all it’s glory.

White Lightning Razor, Beep, Shack, Green Giant, Hollywood, Snowpants and the Turk (Killer was suppose to be on this team but did not show up)

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and then the tournament, Two teams playing the week before the tournament, you would think everyone would want to get into pre tournament shape, but no, some at home doing Pilates, some at home resting.

Tuesday night Hockey was full of fun and hit goal posts and the Green Giant picking the top corners, “Save those for Saturday” Stated Matador.

The White Lightning too the first game 7-5 and the second game ended up being a tie 9-9.

With only three more sleeps remaining, the boys are raring to go. “I really can’t wait to get the show on the road”, stated a cool calm and collective Falcon.

Things you need to know,

It starts at 8:30 this Saturday morning.

Cost is $25 to be paid to your Captain.

Captains, you are to buy a round of drinks at Purples for your team

Pizza will arrive at Purples at 4, pay the Turk $10

Tournament is for fun, I asked around and not one NHL Scout will be in attendance.

For those wishing to attend Franca’s “Celebration of Life” On March 5, dinner is at 5:30 …and Mirella and Jerry are collecting $15 from each person in order to give it to “Transition to Betterness” .

Also ….some related Tomcat news …Ghost Crossing is apparently going to play at the “Good Bye Purples” party set for Saturday March 26 …all Tomcats are encouraged to attend the party and say good bye to Mirella and Jerry.  They have been incredible hosts to the Tomcats And it would be nice to give them a ‘Tomcat Spirit’ send off …..also fellow Tomcat brothers and sister are playing …Eel (drums) Axe (guitar) Snake Bite (Guitar and Vocals) The Toad (vocals) and Coyote (Bass)…I’m sure Ghost Crossing would appreciate a great crowd cheering them on and well if some boobies are shown during the show to the band….I’m sure they will take it all in,  Ghost Crossing stride so please consider coming out on the 26th.

Killer was suppose to be there but never showed up, Stevo is getting tired of the ‘no shows’ and was a bit steamed about it but offered no comment.

Razor gets honourable mention as he brought a 15 pack of OV, “Just because”. “What a super great guy Razor is”, stated Sheep Dog.

In proper Journalistic Fashion, I wish to bring your attention to the next article, just below mine for a read on the ‘prediction’ of how the tournament will go.  Yurri has some  interesting notions…and predictions, so enjoy.

June 17 is the Tomcat golf outing……Snowpants just starting to look into places, times, costs, but the date is set.
