Hockey was very good and the teams were all even, the scores were close but in the end Spinner’s Panther’s took the mini, “I was nervous, I am not going to Lie”, stated Captain Spinner, “But we seem to get it together” Spinner added.

In sporting news, the Tomcat Banners, are now hung at the Kapusta Kow Palace.  Tomcats honour numbers, they don’t retire numbers like some NHL Teams then players have to wear stupid numbers like 57 or 38 instead of 9, 4, 12, 16 etc.

Team spirit was alive and well back at Purples as Tomcats piled in to say good bye.  The Tomcat pictures are gone and with the help of the most ambitious Tomcats a play was made to get down the T-Bird front end for Lovie as he had lost his virginity in a 1967 T-Bird in Petrolia as ‘Light my Fire’ by the doors played on the the Oldies Radio Station.  After, he held her tight to ‘Ruby Tuesday’ by the Rolling Stones.

“That night meant a lot to me, but when I saw the Tomcat Spirit reaching up to help take the front end down, another tear came into my eye, as Sunny, Sparky, Matador and Hollywood did everything they could to get that front end down…they just could not reach it”. Lovie said holding back tears.

“All in a days work” stated Doc.

A HUGE shout out goes out to Sunny, who paid for the Pizza back at Purples, there is not a greater Tomcat out there. Unselfish moves like that will have a Sainthood for Sunny. Saint Sunny!

Lovie’s NHL Hockey Playoff Pool: Lovie has set the date for his play off pool as April 12, Lovie provides everything, pens, players names, fun and all you have to do is bring your $11 dollars. “It is a draft style draft this time, so it should be loads of fun”. Lovie indicated.

April 19 Last night of Hockey: There are only 3 weeks of hockey left.

May 3, 2016 Board of Directors Meeting: The Windsor Tomcats will be holding their year end Board of Directors meeting on Tuesday May 3, 2016.  Any or all Tomcats are invited to attend the meeting.  The meeting will be held at Stevo’s house and the start time would be at 6:30p.m. YOU MUST LET STEVO KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ATTENDING.

Kapusta Open: The Turk is organizing a golf event and the proceeds go to the St. Vladimir’s Building Fund. (you know it better as the Kapusta Kow) The event is on June 11, it is at Ambassador (which costs &75-80 just to play golf there)  In the Kapusta Open you get golf, a cart, hot dog and drink at the turn, dinner and door prizes.  The cost is only $110. The hall has been great to us for over 27 years….consider playing in this year’s tournament.  See the Turk for more details.

Tomcat Golf Outing: Keep June 17 marked off in your calendar, Sutton Creek, 10 a.m. kick off,  Tomcat golf tournament, affectionately known as the ‘Pantalon de Neige’ Cup.  Snowpants is very close to providing everyone with detailed details in regards to this fantastic event,  so mark off your calendar and stay by your computer for important emails from the Pantalon de Neige himself, Snowpants.

Stevo is not there next week, and Sparky is in charge.

A mini tournament was had for the first time in 4 weeks. “Good to see the boys back out in full force”stated Steveo. “Nothing makes me happier than a large turnout.”

The teams were well matched, no one team able to dominate. The Docs Diamonds were victorious on the evening, winning by goal differential.

The highlight of the night was the return of Rocky from an extended period of time on the IR.”It was frustrating sitting out. All I wanted to do was play” stated an exuberant Rocky. “I really do appreciate the warm welcome back and a shout out to Tunzies Titans for the honorary shirt. I love it!”

Rocky indicated to hurricane that his injury will never fully recover, but that he should be able to achieve a level of 80% pre injury functionality. “This disturbs me greatly “stated Hurricane. “I believe it is the responsibility of all Tomcat players to demonstrate good fiscal accountability to ensure the future success and financial security of the Tomcat organization. As such, I will be submitting a formal proposal to the board of directors that Rockys total compensation package be reduced by 20% to reflect his diminished capacity. This will free up money to sign potential free agents.”

Odds and Ends

1. From the tomcat safety committee, a reminder that NO slap-shots are allowed.
2. Next week, in honour of Purples and its history with the Tomcats, only one beer will be served onstage. After that, we will re locate to Purples for the last time.
3. Lovies NHL playoff pool has been scheduled for April 12 after hockey. It will be a draft format. Be sure to tell the kids you’ll be too late to tuck them in that night
4. A reminder from snowpants to mark on your calendar Friday June 17 for the Tomcat golf outing. Rumour has Sutton Creek as the course this year. snowpants will provide further details nearer to the event.
5. Steveo, as the result of his public relations fiasco surrounding Razor, was fined a 6 pack. Steveo brought 30 beers, thereby fulfilling his fine.
6. May Day is being shut down by the tomcat training staff for the remainder of the year due to a lower body injury. This long term tomcat may be facing the end of his storied career, only being available to the tomcats at tournament time.

New Tomcat Comes Aboard by Harry Ballsonoue 

Kamikaze and Mrs. Kamikaze are ecstatic to announce the arrival of their first round pick, Thor Kamikaz. He comes in at 6 pounds and 9 ounces. “He’s a keeper” stated a proud but weepy Kamikaz.

 In other news, I wish to apologize to Razor, as it turns out he did tell Stevo he was not going to be there for last weeks games, Stevo never recorded the information and I reported that it was Razor’s fault for not attending.

It is my understanding, Stevo will be fined by the Tomcat organization. (Fine undetermined)

Razor never showed up and gave no notice, so Tomcats had to scramble and find a goalie, “I’ll go in net”, stated Snowpants and in the net he went, doing great, but his team lost a close one, 8-6.

Goaltending change, thought to be due to injury not performance, so Snowpants came out and Soupy went in net, Soupy’s team won 9-8.  Soupy ends up with an 8 GAA.

Shack never showed up either.  Tomcats are scratching their heads and wondering what the hell is going on. “I don’t get it, two guys just don’t show up, invite me for dinner, cook a big meal….and I won’t show up, see how you feel”, stated May Day.

The games were very intense, March Break for the youngsters, but the oldsters were out in full force playing on the Kapusta Kow Palace floor. One youngster was out, Big Ned was brought up, due to it being March break, “The kid has hands, just like his dad” Stated Sparky and added, “The apple does not fall far from the tree”.

“After a few weeks off, I thought the pace was still pretty good, you can see as pro athletes go, all these Tomcats are in super physical condition.” stated Snowpants.

MARCH BREAK IS OUR NEXT WEEK OF HOCKEY (March 15); Trips, excurtions, vacations, spa week if you cannot be  at hockey please let Stevo know.

Also, if your child is over the age of 16 and wants to play that night March 15, please let Stevo know.  If you are planning on bringing your younger kids to goof around between games, please make sure they
have a helmet to wear on stage during the games, no one wants to see your kid get a Chevy or Spinner shot off the side of their melon.

After a nine day lay off from ball hockey  some Windsor Tomcats were raring to go…but text after text came in and at the end of it all, the Tomcats had to cancel the night of hockey.

“I don’t recall, ever, ever having to do that”. indicated Stevo, with large crocodile tears in his eyes, “maybe it is time to fold the whole operation down”. He concluded.

It is a well known fact that Tomcats attendance drops off after the tournament, so maybe, the Tournament will actually be the last night of hockey for the year.

If you are keeping Stats, the Tomcats have 3 goalies on staff: Razor, Falcon, the Danish

“I think it is time to review the entire process. ” indicated  Sparky.

One Tomcat that hopes Tomcat Hockey will continue is Ogie, he is raring to go April 12 and 19, “Geez willikurs, I hope they don’t cancel the rest of the season, I was planning on coming out April 12 and 19”,  a weepy Ogie indicated.

Ogie and some of the boys enjoy a drink after the game and before heading into the Dom Polski to celebrate the end of another fantastic Tomcat season.

“I will need to look at the entire situation, but it is very possible that we will be shutting the rest of the year down, if guys can’t come out then no use keeping it going, guys don’t show up after the tournament anyway, so…..well……maybe we can look at September and see if it is worth starting it up, if not, maybe we are done…. it sure would have been nice to have a final ceremony or something”. Stated Stevo.
