Sad Day, Happy Days, New Goalies, Old Goalies
by Harry Ballsonue
First Mini of the Season
Teams
The Scorpions Soupy, Cribzie, Killer, Spinner, Chevy and in goal, Hurricane
The Rattlers Doc, Turk, Tunzie, Beep, El Choppo, Raked in goal, Falcon
The Cobras Kamikaze, Sunny, Snowpants, Sheep Dog, Sparky, Rocky and in goal, Stevo
Hockey was fast with two goalies donning the pads, who normally don’t don the pads, Hurricane and Stevo and Falcon played goal. “I had goalies back out on me just today, leaves me stuck, leaves the organization stuck, we will be looking to get some new net minders in for next week, we can’t have guys who normally don’t play in net, play in net”. Stated Rocky
Thanks to these three for playing.
It was a hot night and I know in the press box it was hot, so I can’t imagine what it was like at floor level. “I use to play goalie all the time, but playing tonight, I have a new perspective on playing goal, I will never try to score from behind the net, it is just too unfair”, stated Stevo. who had a good first game, but then James Riemer like, he played like shit.
Tuesday nights are always happy and this Tuesday was no exception, but it was a sad time for Tomcat history. Stevo had to discard 25 years of St. Felix’s. On a happy note, the Turk, was able to bring in a number of St. Felix’s and passed them on to Rocky for safe keeping.
“Nothing can be done at this time,”Stated Sparky, “There is too much damage to them and they (St. Felix’s) cannot be saved.

Stevo tossing 25 years of St Felix’s into garbage as Sea Lion watches and sheds a tear. “It is important to have had a witness to the damaged St. Felix’s, they’re damaged I could see that ” indicated Sea Lion

Stevo shows the damaged St Felix’s that are to be discarded due to mould “We just can’t save them” Stated Stevo

What has been saved is most of the “drafts” over the years “this is a part of Tomcat history that needed to be saved and I’m so glad it was” stated ROCKY
Doc had a hard tumble to the wall, striking his head. Concussion protocol kicked in and Tomcat medical staff were able to assist, he will be staying at Kamikaze’s house in Kamikaze’s bed with Mrs. Kamikaze, so that Kamikaze can check on him every hour to make sure he is allright. It should be noted, that Kamikaze’s fall, was an accident, he went to shoot the ball and stumbled and fell against the wall. “I’m fine, but who is this Doc that you speak of”, Doc asked.
Beep also got injured, Tomcats have submitted video to the league so that it can be reviewed, they are not saying who they think injured the Beepster.
Rocky asked that acknowledgement be given to Sheep Dog and El Choppo for already brining their 24 MGD Bottles as their initiation case. “ You got to love that they brought their cases in, in the first 3 weeks of hockey, now that is some Tomcat Spirit” Stated Spinner.
Rocky also mentioned that Sunny and Tunzie have been arriving early at the Kapusta Kow and setting up, Excellent Tomcat Spirit boys!
Chevy also gets mention, for brining a case of MGD, on a ‘Just because’ basis, “Just because he is a great guy”. stated a beaming Hurricane.
Tomcat Christmas party at Rock Bottom will be held Saturday December 17. Details to follow.
Caption “A beautiful gesture by the Tomcats, Championed by Doc and Kamikaze, was to present to Stevo a table, that will have Tomcat signatures on it”
For now, it will be kept up on stage and used by the Tomcats, but its eventual home will be Stevo’s place.
While you are checking out the photos of the saved ‘Tomcat History’ and looking for your name on the 2011 draft, do you think I could put my Harry Ballsonue.

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS, REUNIONS, HOCKEY by Harry Ballsonue
The Trumps: Falcon, El Chappo, Bulldog, Stevo, Sunny, Sheep Dog, Snowpants, La Bamba, Tunzie
The Clintons: The Danish, Doc, Killer, The Hurricane, Beep, Chevy, Soupy, The Turk
The second night of hockey was quick and tight, “Not a lot of room out there tonight” Stated La Bamba who weaved and waved his way around the Trumps as he tried to set up a scoring play.
The Trumps took the night with scores of 7-5 and 6-4.
On the second night of Hockey, Rocky was in charge and did a great job setting up the teams and them making birthday announcements saying that Snowpants was turning 27 and Soupy was turning 49. Happy Birthday to both Tomcats. (Serta is expected to bring rye and coke next week… as it has now become a tradition).
It is just great to have the season going and having all the Tomcats back together again. If you paid your $40 you got a four pack of beautiful Tomcat beer glasses, what a great gift. Rocky does a great job with the start of the season gift.

Doc and Soupy happy to be back. “It used to be guys would come to training camp to train but now everyone comes to camp in shape” indicated Doc
One slight problem and it brought out some confusion was that the score clock and the number one had burned out, meaning that when the clock was set up, for 15 minutes, it looked like only 5 minutes were on the clock and until it rolled down to 9 minutes, the Clinton team seemed very confused. Sparky returns on October 18 and will be told about the malfunction. (or maybe he already knows on his iPhone ’score clock’ App) Sparky does not own a Galaxy 7…

Snowpants Minister of Golf and Pyrotechnics also dapples in floor cleaning, window opening and score clock keeping
A big night for Sheep Dog as he netted 2 goals on the evening, giving him 6 on the season. “I’m just happy to be up with the big club, my off season training has really paid off and has brought me to the high level of playing and preforming and that is where I am at this time in my game”, a grinning Sheep Dog had stated.
I must also tell you that the Falcon looked spectacular tonight in net, moving the pads like they were on a floor of butter.
While you are checking out the score clock and the number one thinking that maybe you need to do a number 2, do you think I could put my Harry Ballsonue.
Some Tomcat History Ruined by Harry Ballsonue

Stevo, Killer, Bearcat, Crispy, Top of Timmy Timmy Cocoa Puffs, and Bulldog
A picture paints a thousand words, you can see the water damage (Flood at the Stevo’s House) of a team of the Windsor Tomcat wearing red Windsor Tomcat tee shirts.
“It’s very unfortunate”, stated Stevo, when he first saw the photos after the flood at his home, where photos and St. Felix’s went under water.
We are learning that 22 inches of water, in the lower level of Stevo’s St. Clair Beach home, penetrated the third shelf of a filing cabinet where Stevo kept all original and copies of the St. Felix. “Not for a moment did I ever think we would ever get so much water, I felt the third shelf was a safe place, obviously I dropped the ball, and the St Felix’s got wet”. a somber Stevo indicated.
The Windsor Tomcats are indicating that not all is lost, about 220-320 photos were in a plastic container and were placed on a couch that only saw the bottom of the futon get wet so those pictures, which include the ‘posed’ photos of each Tomcat wearing their black “Tomcats’ jersey were all still fine. There were also golf photos and tournament photos in that particular bin that was kept dry.
“Where I also really dropped the ball, is that over the years, I had put individual team, photos for example the flying cooler lids mixed in with my family photos, and these photos toppled into the water even though they were in large bins” an aggravated Stevo stated.

Small photo albums like these can still be somewhat saved and the Tomcats are hoping for continued sun so that can be done.
Some of those photos are ruined but some are not, we are learning today that the plan is to dry them out and then to place them in a ‘Tomcat’ Bin for continued safe keeping.
There are also photos of Battle Creek Golf trips that are being saved as well and will be placed in a separate Tomcat-Battle Creek trip bin.
The only saving grace here, is that the photos that have been somewhat ruined are from the early “Red Jersey Tomcat Days” and that the newest and latest jersey pictures are still intact.

Photos such as this one of the Hurricane will try to be saved, the good part is that these photos (In the Red Tomcat Jersey) were also all photo copied and those still remain in tact.
“Not all photos will be lost, I will see what we can save,” stated a positive thinking Stevo, but then added, “As far as the St. Felix’s, well that is a different story, the dryer they get, the harder it will be to separate, I will try to do my best and we’ll start separating them as soon as I have space to do so, with water logged cabinets, and book shelfs and my desk in the garage, there is not a lot of room, but once we make some room I will start the process”. concluded Stevo.
All the St. Felix’s separate page to page, would probably cover the entire Kapusta Kow floor, so it is a daunting task and Stevo said he would keep us appraised of the progress.
“It is a sad day in Tomcat land”, stated Sunny, “yes, they were early photos, that went into the water, but it is still a party of Tomcat history and you never want to see Tomcat History damaged or ruined”. Concluded Sunny.
In the mean time, as you look at the ruined pictures of Bulldog, The Rake and the Hurricane, do you think I could put my Harry Ballsonue.

The Skinny: Hopefully a better turnout for week two. Remember to bring your $40 and get the cool start up gift!
Maybe it was the nice unseasonably-warm weather, maybe it was the after effects of the flooding, maybe it was just the alignment of the stars…nonetheless, the turnout was sparse with only two teams and one spare a side. Lots of cancellations leading up to the 6:30pm start. The Tomcats ask that everyone write down this number and text any last minute absences:
226-345-5422
Late emails on Tuesdays do not work…you must text 226-345-5422…TEXT TEXT TEXT. Take 1 minute now and add this to your phone contact list.
Okay, back to the action…
Black Bazookas – Sheepdog, Sunny, The Danish, Snowpants, Rocky and The Rake
White Weapons – Skippy (playing out), The Falcon, Tunzie, Hollywood, Soupy and Jingles
Two 17 minute periods were played in the hot, moist air of the Kapusta. The Weapons played without a spare for the first period, so a mid-period break was given to cool off and wipe up water spots still dripping from newly refinished roof. The pace of hockey was decent while players worked off the rust from the off season. In the end, the teams tied 3-3 in a great, evenly balanced game.
Game two saw the period time shortened to 12 minutes due to the low numbers, heat and being the first week back. The passing and ball movement improved with lots of quick cross passes for goals. The second game was slanted a bit more to the Bazookas who ultimately prevailed at the end of the evening.
MGD was served ice cold thanks to a 24 from Hurricane (how did he bring beer when he didn’t even play???) and a 12 from Rocky. Sheepdog also brought out a 24 of MGD for his initiation case, but the Tomcats will save those for a busier turnout night.
Shout out to Tunzie and Sunny who took the initiative to set up while the new President dealt with first-night jitters and last minute calls.
Players paying their $40 start up fee were treated to a great gift. We would have take a picture but want to keep the droves of Tomcats who didn’t play in suspense for their first night.
The Kapusta Kow is open!!!

Latest word from the Kapusta is we should be good to go for next Tuesday, October 4th. Any changes will be communicated.
Please take a look at the altered Beer list schedule. Management did the best we could to make sure all participants take part appropriately.
PLEASE let Rocky know your status for Tuesday October 4th!
Thanks,
Management
Due to repairs of the roof at the Kapusta Kow, the first night of hockey will not be until October 4, 2016.
Many Tomcats still plan to meet up at John Max on Lauzon Parkway (not Dougal) at 6:30pm Tuesday for some drinks and 2 for 1 wings.
Let Rocky know you are aware of the cancellation and if you plan to go to John Max (we want to reserve tables). An email was also sent to make sure everyone is aware.
Management apologizes for this unfortunate turn of events.
Thank you,
Management
