“If the XFL can make a comeback, then why not the Canada Ukraine Game”. May Day

The Sunny Green Hornets took the first game, 9-7 and then the Soupy Red Dragons came back taking the second game 5-4. “I was impressed with La Bamba out there tonight” indicated Red Dragons team Captain Soupy, “He was like Bobby Orr out there, with his moves and passes,” Soupy added.

The Rake also had a stellar game on Defence for the Green Hornets.

Next week, is the Tomcat Christmas Party, beer, spirits and Pizza being taken care of by the Tomcats.  IF YOU KNOW NOW YOU ARE NOT PLAYING, LET STEVO KNOW, SO THAT THE CORRECT amount of pizza can be ordered.  Check the ‘What The Tomcats Think They Know’ (out this weekend)  to see if you are listed as playing, if you are not suppose to be playing let Stevo know.

Tomcat Medical Staff are telling us that Sheep Dog is being put on the shelf for a few months with an undisclosed injury, Coach Sealion indicated “When you have played as hard as this Blue Chip Defensemen, I can see where the body starts to breakdown.  A perennial all star eventually needs a break, so we will give him the rest he needs, the medical attention that he deserves and hope we can have him back in the lineup in February sometime.”

Oh my God, who are these young young gentleman? 30 years and counting.  I can’t wait to see the 50 year anniversary clothing item.

Organizers are in the early stages of looking at doing another Canada Ukraine game, very popular in the 90’s at the Kapusta Kow Palace. No one was willing to talk about it, except May Day who gave us some information and some very usable quotes.  The format would be the same as it use to be, except with so many players now, there would be try outs and cuts. Each team would select two goalies and both would not  necessarily get in the game as it would be the coaches decision.  Yes, coaches, in the same vein as the recently suggested Legendary players as Captains of the main tournament in February as suggested by La Bamba, the two coaches/mangers have been selected and they would be The Bundura for Ukraine and The Sea Lion for Canada. Both Coaches would select 10-13 players for the event and then go with their best 10 players (4 defensemen, 4 forwards and 2 goalies) “Yes some players would be selected, attend a tryout and then possibly get cut”, stated May Day a perennial player for Ukraine for years often compared to the great Alexander Yukashev.  It is not known if this will stir some interest from past players to come back and try out for their team. One player that comes to mind is Canada’s top player,  Crispy.  “I have not talked to him personally,” stated May Day, “But it would not surprise me that if and when he hears of this game, that he comes out of retirement and tires out for Canada.”  In the meantime, The Ukrainian government was granting Ukrainian citizenships to Crowchuck, Beepsky and Sunnyostalvitch….and here is the thing the game will be Broadcast on Tomcat Radio, CLIT-FM but will not be on Tomcat television as it will be a ‘Pay per View’ event. More to come, but stick around, this could prove to be a very interesting night of hockey.
