LaBamba returned from overseas assignment to the Tomcats Berlin affiliate only to be met at the airport and given directions to proceed to the Sarasota for further re-conditioning prior to a possible recall to the bigs…….seems Hurricane still unhappy with the lack of stamina affecting the silver medalists at the tourney……LaBamba was not to happy about re-assignment and could be heard talking to Sunny about only a one way contract in the next round of contract negotiations…..”.we need to get it done this summer, Sparky says he can assure such a deal?”
Bob MacKenzie of TSN stated that he had insider information that LaBamba’s assignment to the Seagulls would be at least 2 more weeks as Tomcats management worked precariously to stay below the cap until the rosters are unlocked for the final stretch of the season. It’s all business at this level and with all the legacy contracts weighing down the Tomcats top brass, the fans really suffer at times.
