We are all getting older, but you could not tell that from last nights play. The hockey was fantastic.  ACTUAL QUOTE “ In the short time I have been playing, tonight was the best hockey I have had a chance to see, the teams were both incredible” State the Terror.  It was good hockey, the first game finished in a 10-10 tie, which meant a 3 minute 3 on 3 overtime game and no one scored so it finished 10-10.  The over time portion will be tweaked for next time, with two 2 minute periods being played.  Goalies will switch ends after the first period if no goal is scored.  “You could feel the intensity rise in the overtime, it was really cool” State The Terror.  In the second game, the Soupy Seamen took the game 9-5.

Fantastic hockey keep it up boys.  Those who could not play, you missed a good night.

Junior made a return and received a 25 minute standing ovation from the fans.  On his first shift, on his first shot on net, he put one in, top shelf where Grandma keeps the Sherry.  Great job Junior.

Thanks to Sparky, Sunny, The Rake, Sheep Dog, Chico, Beep and Stevo for helping in removing the empties from the Tomcat room.  Thanks Boys

The Trojans swept the night with an 11-5 and 8-6 (open net goal) win.

No big issues with hockey just keep Good hockey going, you don’t have to worry about the score and if it is not marked it is not the end of the world, Also, in a 10-5 game, to you really need to score the 11th goal with 3 seconds left? Maybe come tournament time, whey you do want to rack up the score, but on a Tuesday night, is it really that important to you? Ask your self, ‘Do  I really need to score that 11th goal, I am going to be having beers with all the guys at the end of the night do I really need to piss guys off”.

 Hollywood brought a 12 of Amstel Light, Just Because, ‘put er there Hollywood, good doing’.

Matador” “No I like playing with Killer cuz I can yell at him”.

Stevo goes over to the bench to Killer, “Hey, you are going to play on the line with Matador”.

Killer: “Oh…..So that he can yell at me”!

In the world of investigative journalism I came across a little ditty. Little is known but there is a poster to prove something is up with the Tomcats Rake. Does he have a band?

It has been noticed that same guys putting stuff up and putting stuff away.  If you did not put anything up at the start of the night and did not take anything down, at the end of the night, do you not think you should do something?  Tonto seen at the end of the night putting tables away, although he had set up at the start.  Snowpants, put all the sticks away and even straightened them up.  Tomcats still looking for ideas as to what to do with all the sticks.

Junior is to make his debut next week.  The Tomcats in a press release have indicated that Junior has passed all his physical, and medicals and his ready to go.

TEAMS;

Speaking of playing in net, Falcon, reaches out to make the save of the century.  He is sprawling, falling, glove hand stretched out and flashes the leather and catches the ball. The fans go wild, what a save!

The teams split the night, with the Cheetah’s taking the first game, 9-7 and then the Snowpant Scouts took the second game, 7-6.  Very good hockey, not too intense, but well played.

The highly anticipated return of Junior was set back a week. Junior’s team of doctors have indicated he will make his season debut next week.

Nest week, Tomcats looking for a few volunteers to get there early to empty the Tomcat room of beer empties.  6:15 would be perfect time and Sparky and the Tomcats thank you.

So Bobby Orr has a new book, it is called ‘Bobby My Life in Pictures’.  When the wife or kids ask you what you want for Christmas this might be an idea you could throw at them.  Also Curtis Joseph, aka Cujo has a book out too and it is suppose to be spectacular.  Defiantly should be on your list for Santa.  The Toronto Star interviews Bobby about his book and life and he gives this quote:

“This isn’t a sprint, this is a marathon, and if mom and dad would just realize the competition is huge, you’re eventually competing against the world,” says Orr. “Very few make it. So what’s the purpose of playing minor hockey? Or minor baseball, or anything? It’s about learning to be a good teammate, to be responsible, to be dedicated to the sport you’re playing or the school you’re going to. Those are things you can learn anywhere. Love the game.”

The Big Easy brought a 24 ‘just because’.  Put her there Big Easy.

Hollywood is organizing an eventon Saturday November 10.Two bands, lots of food, Tickets are $25 and five of that goes to food at the UNO Hall on Ottawa, (they make the best Perogies)

The Christmas Party at Rock Bottom will beon Friday November 23.It is an ‘Only Tomcats Event’, meaning no wives or Girl Friends are invited. The cool bus was deemed too expensive so other options are being explored. So, if you have any ideas, please contact Sunny or Chevy. Sunny can’t go to the party, so some of the Tomcats were suggesting changing the date….

It was a mini, second one of the year, good hockey, no incidents so please keep it up. The league is asking that you to watch the slap shots.  No higher then the hip for the wind up. Your hip!. Not Jingles hip or Paul Bunyans.

The Tomcat room is starting to get full with empties, (it is week six after all), so count on a clean up in the next few weeks.  You will be informed when your assistance will be needed.

Snowpants, once again took the sticks up to the room.  Tomcats are very happy with Snowpants role on the team, thanks Razor for bringing him out.

Speaking of sticks, Tomcats want to do something with all the extra sticks up stairs.  Looking for ideas from anyone who has one.  We can do a pink tape on the butt end of sticks being used and the rest could be placed in another area?  Ideas are welcome.  Please give this some thought. Let Stevo know what YOU think we should do.

Kudo’s go out to The Terror, there was a stack of red shirts (the ones used last night by the Tunzie Mary Jane’s).  The Terror indicated that HE WOULD take them home and wash them. Super work by Terror.

IF you use a goalie shirt or wear the red shirts consider taking them home to wash.  (Take the whole batch) Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Last night, the games were sponsored by Killer Farms.  They Sponsored the night, calling it, Killer Devils Lettuce night. All fans were given two dubaronees when they entered the Kapusta Kow Palace.

Very good hockey, with the Beeps Bongs taking both games, the first game, with the shots 67 to 10 for the Bongs, they won 8-5.  The second game, they took 10-8 (open net goal at the end).

Special thanks to Sparky for bringing Cheese and Kielbassa and Crackers. And kudos to The Rake for brining a 24 of Mill Street Organic.  Very Classy.

We are learning that the Turk may be out for the rest of the season.  Trying to confirm this with the Tomcats but they are very hush hush on the topic, The Turk was sent to his homeland to see a herbalist, a hip specialist a knee specialist and a Bundura Teacher, He took his lovely wife with them, not sure how many Tomcats shirts they took to wear in Ukraine.

In other injury related updates, Tomcats are saying Skuz is looking at a return on December 18. Rocky is looking at coming back mid November. Skippy is still on long term IR.

There was some interest in knowing who the Captains are for the tournament come February, well here they are, the Tonto Keemosabies, Sunny Rays, Snowpants Storm and Rocky’s Racoons.
