Emergency call up, first round pick from 2019…18 year old Sparrow. “I don’t know what to say …I’m
Sitting in Oshawa in high school and next thing I know my principal comes in and whispers to me “you’re plane leaves for Windsor in 45 minutes grab your stuff and get on that plane “…Next thing he knows he is warm ups for the Windsor Tomcats and then gets into a game and wins his first game 5-4.
“It really was a good night of hockey”, stated Sunny, “Lots of guys out tonight and you could feel the Tomcat spirit in the air.”
A few announcements were made on stage after the games. Snowpants reminded everyone about the Christmas party (see notice below). Rocky presented Sparrow with his very own Tomcat t-shirt (“I thought the kid was going to start to cry when I gave him the tee shirt’” stated Rocky)
The Lizard was given a black Tomcat shirt cuz he did not have one. Tonto was presented with his mini # 6 Towel, “Oh man, this is incredible, it feels like Christmas” a jubilant Tonto said.
Pizza was on stage as La Bamba turned 36 on Saturday so some celebratory pizza was had by all. Happy Birthday La Bamba. (fan favourite)
The Rake, who just retired from a part time job (full time Professional Ball Hockey Player) he was the Minister of Labour for the province of Manitoba, was taken back by the bottle of Rye that the Tomcats presented to him on his retirement. “I really don’t know what to say, this is incredible” The Rake said, holding back tears. “To be thought of by the Tomcats like this is really something” (pause here as he started weeping openly), “I love all my Tomcat brothers, (more crying, actually sobbing loudly…like a baby). “Thanks to everyone, thank you, thank you,” stated The Rake. He could not finish and held Killer and cried into Killers shirt.
IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE hockey next week let Stevo know, he is running the operation for the next three weeks.
Thanks Sparky for bringing the Pizza for La Bamba’s birthday.
Interesting quote by Bullwinkle as the three captains were picking the teams, “why was I not picked as a captain? I’m a franchise player”…
Nice to see the Matador out there and Hollywood who was on the IR for last several weeks make a debut.
