“We tripped the light fandango, we did cartwheels across the floor, we were feeling kind of seasick but the crowd cried out for more.” Hollywood
If you we were not at 1033 Ottawa last night, you missed the party of 30 years. Tomcats celebrated their 30 year anniversary and the crowds loved the entire night. “It is so awesome to meet the Tomcats, what a great bunch,” stated Ms. Shakalackus.
It was estimated that around 134 were in attendance last night. “A fantastic crowd, impossible to thank everyone, but I want to, if I miss someone, please forgive me…Hollywood, Sunny, and Snowpants for putting most of this together, Snowpants for doing a super terrific job with the door prizes. Thanks to everyone who contributed a door prize, and to Sparky for doing a great job as emcee. To our ticket sales people…Rake, May Day and the Maltese Falcon, thanks so much. To Natalie (Serta) for being the photographer. To our clean up staff, to everyone who helped at the front door, and to you the participants for coming out supporting the Tomcats,” stated Rocky.
It was great to see some of the alumni, the Legend, Rexy, Fuzzy, Finner, Bucko, Bearcat, Bruiser, The Bundura and the Chief, just to name a few.
The Sea Lion did a fanatic job covering the years with the alumni.
Stevo made a speech and used props to show the original Fabulous Thunderbirds tank top, the First ever tee shirt and the original hockey stick.
Dinner was excellent and enjoyed by everyone.
A full squad picture was taken, with every Tomcat, past and present, in the photo who was at the event. The photo was not available at the time of the posting of this blog, but we hope to have it for you on Wednesday.
The Mooseheads and Ghost Crossing rocked out the night, “I could not believe the crowd at the end dancing,” stated Joad the Toad, lead singer of Ghost Crossing. “They kept yelling 3 more songs, three more songs, well what’s a girl do to, we obliged. It was so cool,” concluded an exuberant Joad the Toad.
Last night of hockey for this year goes this Tuesday, I’m sure back on stage, there were be lots of stories. “I watched The Terror dance, oh my, cat like reflex’s in net and Fred Astaire on the dance floor and my theory is, if you are a good dancer, you are good in bed, so that’s why Mrs. Terror always has a smile on her face,” stated Stevo.
While you are checking out the picture of Chico and Kamikaze busting a move, do you think I could put my Harry Ballsonue?
