March, “Comes in like a Lion, out like a Lamb”
Teams:
Fighting Kamikaze Marching Band: Kamikaze, Bullwinkle, Rocky, Kramden, Sunny and Chico
Sheep Dog Scottish Pipers: Sheep Dog, Jingles, Hollywood, Soupy, Shack and Stevo
Killer Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps: Killer, Cribzie, Beep, Hurricane, Bulldog, Q and Falcon
Exciting hockey once again, I have to wonder, what a team on a Tuesday last night would do with a team on a first night of hockey in September. The Fighting Kamikaze Marching Band took the night, with stellar play in net from Chico.
Net minders can win it or lose it for you, here, Falcon and Chico had outstanding nights where Stevo, not so much.
WFHLPA POLL
The NHLPA had their poll, ‘Player who is the most difficult to play against’: Sydney Crosby, ‘Most underrated Player’: Nicholas Backstrom, ‘Goalie hardest to score on’: Carey Price, Jonathon Quick, Pekke Rinne and Sergie Bobrovsky, No Freddie Anderson on that list.
The World Floor Hockey League Players Association Poll, Tomcat version has similar categories, ‘Most Underrated’: Tonto, Best Stick Handler, (where you can’t get the ball from him): Sunny, Best Deceptive Pass: Beep, Best bet to hack at the goalies glove: Killer and Doc, Best Beard: Anvil and Chico, Best Hockey Hair, Bulldog, Toughest D man to play against: Chico, Rocky. Best passer chest high: Sheep Dog, Best Slider: Snowpants. Best stickhandler moving in on a player: Soupy , Best Snap Shot: Tonto, Best Looking Tomcat: Jingles. Best Looking Tomcat over 50: Cribzie, Best curve in his shot: Chevy, Best Hockey Hair over 55: Hurricane, Best Chant: Hurricane blows in…..3 seconds.
INJURY FRONT
The Rake is listed week to week, Tonto is out on the 14 day DL although he was there to drop the ball for the opening ceremonial face-off….and May Day has been shut down for the year. Spinner and Turk along with Skuz are done for the year.
IF YOU KNOW….
If you know you are not playing next week, why not let Rocky know now.
TOMCAT GOLF TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN SET
For those wishing to play this year, you will not have to take off a Friday. The tournament will be held on Saturday June 15. The start time is at 9 a.m. EVERYONE is asked to be there (Where?) by 8 a.m. so that the two man teams can be selected. (Top 12 will pick bottom 12) ‘Pick Me Pick Me Hicksee’. Well hold on there little cowboys…the format is a two man scramble and it is my understanding that several of the drives will have to be used by the ’not so strong’ golfer…so, it is a win-win for everyone. Tournament will be held at Sutton Creek again this year, they do treat the Tomcats great there and the facility afterwards is excellent. So mark the date in your calendar and mark the time. Be there on time and for Sim Jim…BE THERE. Snowpants wants to emphasize the fact that guys need to commit in order to secure a playing partner. The teams will be arranged along with their ‘fair’ handicap (as the teams pairings are based on that – somewhat randomly).
ALSO, The Turks four man scramble is to be held at Ambassador on Saturday June 1. This is an excellent tournament and the prize table is very very good. The food back at the Kapusta Now is excellent, so arrange for a four man team and get your money in to the Turk. It is to raise funds to help off set some of the costs for the hall, the hall that we have played hockey in for the past 30 years, so show your support and come out and play.

So let me ask you, while you are thinking of the team names and saying to yourself, ‘why is he picking marching bands is it because it is March,?’ do you think I can put my Harry Ballsonue.
