The Kapusta Kow palace was abuzz with the news that Van Gough was suiting up tonight, making his Tomcat debut. “Its not everyday that a famous painter makes an appearance with the Tomcats as a goalie. I got his autograph” stated an excited Rake. “I came to see the game just because of him”. No one had the heart to tell Louie that it was not the real Van Gough, who was a post impressionist painter in the mid to late 1800’s. “His thinking that it was the real Van Gough confirms what I have thought all along” said Chevy. “The Rake hasn’t been off all year due to a knee injury, but rather a closed head injury that he has not yet fully recovered from.”
A mini tournament was the order of the night, with all three teams giving it their all. In the end, it was won by Soupys Salamanders. They played an all around solid game and could not be beaten “stated Sunny. “I made some last minute trades just before game time, getting Hurricane and Kamikaze for future considerations. I thought they would make make the difference, but alas, it was not to be. I thought I was Glen Sather for a minute.”
A big tomcat thanks for Van Gough for filling in tonight. “It was a great experience, and I hope I turned some heads tonight” he said. A Tomcat thanks also goes to the Rake, who provide the Tomcat post game meal of sausage, cheese and crackers.
