Danish Called Up For Rest of Season by Harry Ballsonue….
In the tipsy turvie life of a professional ball hockey team, you never know what might happen injury wise. The Windsor Tomcats are reporting that Shack has been put on the IR for 4 weeks AND will not be playing goalie anymore this year. He will try his knee out January 26 but as a forward playing out. So the Tomcats have called up,from the Kenosha Warriors, The Danish. “Skippy is done for the year, Bearcat has retired, Shack goes down, that is why we have kept depth in our goaltending and have the likes of the Danish available to take over. He is more then capable and ready to play”. Stated Coach Sea Lion. The Danish will now be the third goalie and will play mini’s and fill in for Razor and Falcon when they are not in the line up.
“This is a glorious day”, stated the Danish, speaking from a bus heading for Windsor, “I have worked hard in Kenosha and I am glad my skill set is being acknowledged by the Tomcat management. “I look forward to Tuesday and to the tournament on Saturday Feb 27.” a beaming Danish said.
In other injury news, the Tomcats also reported that their number one defenseman, according to Coach Sea Lion, The Rake will be undergoing knee surgery January 8. “It is difficult to replace the quality minutes that the Rake puts in on the blue line and with Rocky being out, Coach Sea Lion has tried to fill the gaps as best as he can and we have been doing well.” Stated Sunny. (Newly appointed Assistant Captain)
With Rocky out, the Tomcats have been going with 3 assistants, Sparky, Hollywood, Lovie and Sunny. If Rocky remains out for the rest of the season, the word in the alley, by the fire escape is that the Tomcats are looking at making one of the four… a Captain on a temporary basis, but they indicated that Rocky would still have his seat in the Team photo come Tomcat Tournament time, if he is playing or not.
And speaking of tournament, the order of the draft, the order of the teams and the team colours will be done on January 12. After hockey, on Stage.
This is what the schedule looks like for this year.

Stop time last minute of each period……1 time out per game.
8 minute periods (this was decided upon at the May 2015 Board of Directors meeting) Each team will play each other twice. Before it was 12 minute periods, so 24 minutes in a game. 3 games that is 72 minutes of hockey.
This year, 8 minute periods, so 16 minute games, but you play 5 games, that equals 80 minutes of hockey. You are getting 8 more minutes of hockey this year. The cost is going up, to $25, but still, 80 minutes of hockey, a tee shirt, Laughs, beer. Still a great value.
First night back this year is January 12.
If you can’t make it, let Stevo know. Check out ‘What the Tomcats THINK they know” on Friday, January 8, right here on the Tomcat Website.
Happy New Year….hey while you are trying to figure out if my math is correct with the new times of games and such, do you think, I could put my Harry Ballsonue.
