With Harry away, Bloggy not available, even Howie was missing from the press box. They should’ve seen it. There has not been a Canada vs Ukraine game in years, and yet last night it was Magic(not Johnson) on the floor. It was a hard fought battle between both teams, kind of like an old drunk blind guy chasing a young spry goat around a barn, trying to have relations with it.
Lined up for Canada was; Mike Falcon, Matthew Matador, Aye Tunes, Danny Mez, Victor Snowpants, Aaron Chico, and Sammy Soupy!
On the opposing side for Ukraine; Mykhaylo Hollywoodowsky, Kevin Jinglevych, Pavlo Sparkylenko, David Hannowsky, Stefan Shovevich, Andriy Docevinsky, and David Spinnerovych.
Ukraine opened up the scoring at 8:54 of the first period on a love pass from Shovevich to Jinglevych. Falcon did everything he could to stop that Strong Ukraine offense! Ukraine after first period was up 4-1. But like that dude on the subway that told Kramer “Ukraine is weak”! That is the motto that Canada went with in the next period, tying the score up. Evened up at 4-4, thanks to awesome playmaking and passing from Chico and Soupy!
It became very intense hockey, with neither team wanting to make a mistake, especially to give up that next goal! The final score of the first series ended up squared up at 6-6. Player/Coach Snowpants, was seen talking intensely to Matador and Tunes, on what has to be done in the next game. Meanwhile on the Ukraine bench, you could see the boys eating perogies, and drinking from their Vodka water bottles!
The second game was similar to first, Like a bunch of ‘Muricans fighting over a 54” TV in a Walmart in Mississippi on black Friday. Good hockey, but Ukraine was up 5-2 after the first. The defensive pair of Sparkylenko and Hannowsky were on fire. Docevinsky was a definite presence in front of the net, screening Falcon all the time!
Falcon was interviewed in between periods and said ”if you look at the shots for and against it says Ukraine 43, and Canada 11. I think we should get more shots on net, get in on Hollywoodowsky, rattle him a little bit, kind of get on his nerves”! Tunes said in his in between period “ shoot it, he knocks it down, I shoot it again he somehow sticks his stick out and magically knocks it down” on Hollywoodowsky’s performance on the night.
Team Canada came on strong in the next period, with a cople of goals from Mez and Snowpants, the next thing you know, 5-5 was the score.
It was a battle, but Spinnerovych put the final nail in the coffin at 14:34 of that period to put Ukraine up 7-6. Canada also took advantage of a time out with 1:03 left in the game to plan their final attack. But it was over at the final buzzer. Matador let out a final “hey”! Whatever that meant!
The final handshakes, sticks in the air, the crowd got what they came for good even, clean hockey! The teams even enjoyed bevies together after the game. Everybody was quoting the Matador,“HEY”!
Remember boys keep your wives close, and your girlfriends closer! Phil Landerer is not too far away. Cheers!
