Enfant stages of planning, but in order to secure a hotel room for the Saturday night, we need to act on it very quickly.
The plan would be to leave Saturday morning around 8 a.m. and get to our hotel rooms…then, some responsible guys would be in charge of securing food for the tail gating party for Sunday…so they would go off to a Meijer’s….(we will stop at Meijer’s on the way to buy beer for our room too, in Michigan, as we cross the boarder, we will also stop at duty free)
So then, once the food is secured and in coolers on ice…we can have a few beverages and maybe hit the town and have dinner some where..maybe have another beer and then hit the sack.
Get up as early as we can, in order to secure a tail gating spot on the Sunday…
Now…here is where it is a bit foggy….we can just get cold cuts and buns and fancy mustards and stuff and not worry about a BBQ…but we are looking for Ideas..so if you have a BBQ and you think BBQing burgers would be the way to go, then that would be fine.
We need; A driving committee ; as we will take a van or a truck…I am willing to drive my Pick Up…and I can take three guys……I also can take on some of the coolers and supplies…depending on the number that want to go….we will need vehicles….so drivers are kind of important, as the vehicles can not drive by them selfs.Sunday…we would go to game and then come back that night…game is at 1pm…so go back to our vehicles quaff a few more beers then go on the road…with a food stop..some where along the way we could be home by midnight.
We will need a person in charge of communications…meaning two way radios…I have two, but they are not the best…cell phones work too, so we can utilize them for our pit stops.
Food guys, would be guys who would collect money for food from everyone and then buy the food and have it stored.
Cooking guys, would be the cookers or the table setter uppers…I have a large table that I could bring….
Chair guys would be guys who would say…”Bring your own camping chair”
Weather: November in Pittsburgh could be cool…but you know how it works…St. Felix will watch over us and bring us some unseasonably higher temperatures..but not swim suit weather, if you know what I mean…but it will be nice.
Lastly…and these are the leaders..the go to guys..the guys we can depend on….they would be our DRIVERS….they would need to stay sober, after the game and take us home….I am willing to be one of those people and I can take three…so right there, 4 of us can go…if someone else steps up and says, “We can take my van, I can take five others”…that is ten guys…..and so on of course.So give it some thought, discuss it with your significant other…let her know this is probably an opportunity of a life time……
We can look at 2 guys a room or 4…..I think I would like two guys per room…but maybe we don’t stay at the Hyatt…we stay at Big Al’s motel…..something like that….let me know your thoughts on that….I will have Darek start looking into hotel rooms…..it would be ideal to be right down town…BUT..if we have to cab it…for a trip here and there…big deal I say….3 guys in a cab…$12 bucks…big deal.
Tickets to the game would be totally up to you….scalpers is the way to go here…unless you want to go there some ticket master situation…that is totally up to you.
